Blackberry Field Hands Needed for the 2021 Season

Blackberry Field Hands

1. Summer Field Crew (full time June 8-Aug 14, 2021)
2. Spring Pruner-Trainers (part time Apr 13-June 5th, 2021)

Summer Field Crew Members
Full-time June 8th – August 14th, 2020

We are seeking three full-time crew members (30-50 hours per week) to help harvest and prune the blackberries and accomplish other field work for the summer.

The summer field crew will be helping with harvest and field maintenance June 8th through August 14th. Hours will be Monday-Saturday 6:00 am-12:00 pm. All berry employees must be willing to work overtime during harvest: 6:00 am until 3-4:00 pm. (No exceptions; notification the day before by field manager.) Outside of harvest, we may not work some Saturdays. Due to weather and inconsistencies in growth there will be some weeks where we work only 4 days.

The hourly rate for full-time summer help is $9-13 per hour depending on experience and performance, and time and a half for overtime (over 40 hours per week). Vacation time is available outside harvest; it must be approved prior to hiring on.

Spring Pruner & Trainer

We are also seeking one part-time crew member with a flexible schedule to help with pruning and training through the spring. 12-18 hours per week April 13th-June 5th. Must be able to work M/W/F or T/Th/Sat because the plants grow very quickly and we cannot get behind or else we will suffer loss and breakage. 4-6 hours each day is required, but the time is flexible. You could work morning, midday or evening.

Pay is $10-14 per hour depending on experience and ability. Must have interest in or experience with agriculture, landscaping and/or horticulture.
